Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nomination:
Air Force Brig. Gen. Byron C. Hepburn has been nominated to the rank of major general while serving as the deputy surgeon general, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, D.C.
Air Force Col. Gerard A. Caron has been nominated to the rank of major general with assignment as assistant surgeon general for dental services, Office of the Surgeon General, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Andrews Air Force Base, Washington, D.C., and commander, 79th Medical Wing, Air Force District Washington, Andrews Air Force Base, Md. Caron is currently serving as deputy command surgeon, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas.
