Flag Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Navy Rear Adm. Mark I. Fox for appointment to the rank of vice admiral and assignment as commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Central Command and Commander, Fifth Fleet, in Bahrain. Fox is currently serving as commander, Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, Fallon, Nev.
Navy Rear Adm. Scott R. Van Buskirk for appointment to the rank of vice admiral and assignment as commander, Seventh Fleet, Yokosuka, Japan. Van Buskirk is currently serving as deputy and chief of staff, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. |
