DOD NOW USING THE MINORITY ON-LINE INFORMATION SYSTEM
The Department of Defense has become a partner with other federal agencies in supporting the development and implementation of the Minority On-Line Information System (MOLIS). The new system is a proven method of communicating information about the research and educational capabilities of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and minority institutions (MI).
Located on the worldwide web at http://www.fie.com/molis, MOLIS also is a major electronic information source of federal requirements that offer opportunities for the minority higher education community. The information provided by MOLIS about participating institutions includes faculty profiles, and details on their research equipment and facilities, and enrollment.
Department of Defense contracting officers and program managers can now obtain information about HBCU/MI capabilities and post information relative to their requirements on MOLIS. Although MOLIS is funded entirely by federal agencies, DoD contractors also may access the information concerning HBCU/MI capabilities to identify potential partners with whom to subcontract in fulfilling their subcontracting goals.
