FULL HONORS CEREMONY SET FOR DOD'S 50TH BIRTHDAY
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will host a full honors ceremony on Wednesday, September 17, 1997, at 10 a.m. (EDT) to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Department of Defense.
The ceremony will be held at the Pentagon's River Entrance Parade Ground.
The ceremony will include the presentation of the Colors, musical selections, a historical presentation, and a joint services flyover.
Honored guests expected to attend the ceremony include former secretaries of defense and former secretaries of the military departments.
All DoD personnel are invited to attend the ceremony.
The event is open to the media.
