Flag Officer Assignments

            Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead announced today the following assignments:

            Capt. Annie B. Andrews, who has been selected for promotion to rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as director, Total Force Requirements, N12, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.  Andrews previously served as a strategic studies group fellow, Chief of Naval Operations Strategic Studies Group, Newport, R.I.

            Capt. Raquel C. Bono, who has been selected for promotion to rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as fleet surgeon, U.S. Pacific Fleet/command surgeon, U.S. Pacific Command, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.  Bono is currently serving as deputy director, Medical Resources, Plans, and Policy Division, N931B, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C. 

            Rear Adm. (lower half) Colin G. Chinn will be assigned as director, Medical Resources, Plans, and Policy Division, N931, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.  Chinn is currently serving as director, Tricare Region West, San Diego, Calif.

            Rear Adm. (lower half) Terry B. Kraft will be assigned as commander, Navy Warfare Development Command, Norfolk, Va.  Kraft is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group Twelve, Norfolk, Va.

            Capt. Victorino G. Mercado, who has been selected for promotion to rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as deputy director, Surface Warfare Division, N86B, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.  Mercado is currently serving as military assistant to the deputy secretary of defense, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Washington, D.C.

            Rear Adm. Michael H. Mittelman will be assigned as deputy chief, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, Washington, D.C.  Mittelman is currently serving as fleet surgeon, U.S. Pacific Fleet/command surgeon, U.S. Pacific Command, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

            Rear Adm. Scott E. Sanders will be assigned as reserve deputy director for joint force development, J7, Joint Staff, Suffolk, Va.  Sanders is currently serving as deputy commander, Second Fleet, Norfolk, Va.

            Rear Adm. (lower half) David B. Woods will be assigned as commander, Joint Task Force Guantanamo, U.S. Southern Command, Guantanamo, Cuba.  Woods is currently serving as director, Strategy and Policy Division, N51, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.
