GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Gen. David W. McIlvoy, U.S. Air Force, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as vice commander, Air Education and Training Command, Randolph AFB, Texas. McIlvoy is currently serving as director, strategic planning, deputy chief of staff, plans and programs, headquarters, U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington D.C.
McIlvoy was born July 9, 1944, in Granite City, Ill.
