GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that he has approved the appointment of Lt. Gen. John C. Griffith, U. S. Air Force, on the retired list in the grade of lieutenant general effective March 1, 1998. Griffith is currently serving as vice commander, Air Education and Training Command, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas.
Griffith was born January 10, 1942, in Gadsden, Ala.
