Flag Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced today that the President has made the following nomination:
Navy Vice Adm. Bruce W. Clingan has been nominated for appointment to the rank of admiral and assignment as commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Europe/commander, U.S. Naval Forces Africa/commander, Allied Joint Forces Command, Naples, Italy. Clingan is currently serving as deputy chief of naval operations for operations, plans, and strategy, N3/N5, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
