General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced today that the President has made the following nomination:
Army Maj. Gen. Raymond P. Palumbo for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as deputy under secretary of defense (intelligence) for joint and coalition warfighter support, Washington, D.C. Palumbo is currently serving as commanding general, U.S. Army Alaska/deputy commander, U.S. Alaskan Command, Fort Richardson, Alaska.
