General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Gen. David D. Halverson for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as deputy commanding general/chief of staff, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va. Halverson is currently serving as commanding general, U.S. Army Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill, Fort Sill, Okla.
