            The chief of staff, Air Force announced today the following assignments: 

            Maj. Gen. Brett T. Williams, director of operations, Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations, plans, and requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C., to director, operations, J-3, Headquarters U.S. Cyber Command, Fort Meade, Md. 

            Brig. Gen. Timothy M. Ray, commanding general, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Air Training Command – Afghanistan, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Training Mission – Afghanistan/ Combined Security Transition Command – Afghanistan, and commander, 438th Air Expeditionary Wing, Air Combat Command, Kabul, Afghanistan, to director of operations, Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations, plans, and requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. 

            Brig. Gen. Steven M. Shepro, director, strategy, policy and plans, J-5, Headquarters U.S. Southern Command, Miami, Fla., to commanding general, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Air Training Command – Afghanistan, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Training Mission – Afghanistan/ Combined Security Transition Command – Afghanistan, and commander, 438th Air Expeditionary Wing, Air Combat Command, Kabul, Afghanistan. 

            Brig. Gen. Mark C. Nowland, director, plans, programs, requirements and assessments, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, to director, strategy, policy and plans, J-5, Headquarters U.S. Southern Command, Miami, Fla. 

            Brig. Gen. Scott A. Vander Hamm, commander, 509th Bomb Wing, Air Force Global Strike Command, Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., to director, plans, programs, requirements and assessments, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.  

            Col. Thomas A. Bussiere, who has been selected for the rank of brigadier general, Inspector General, Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, La., to commander, 509th Bomb Wing, Air Force Global Strike Command, Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. 

            Brig. Howard B. Baker, who has been selected for the rank of major general, commander, Air Force Global Logistics Support Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill., to commander, ogden air logistics complex, Air Force Materiel Command, Hill Air Force Base, Utah. 

            Brig. Gen. Thomas W. Bergeson, who has been selected for the rank of major general, senior defense official and defense attaché, Defense Intelligence Agency, United Kingdom, to director, operational capability requirements, Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations, Plans and Requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. 

            Brig. Gen. Gregory J. Lengyel, executive assistant to Supreme Allied Commander Europe, Supreme Allied Powers Europe, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Mons, Belgium, to commandant of cadets, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. 

            Brig. Gen. Giovanni K. Tuck, commander, 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, Air Combat Command, Southwest Asia, to commander, Defense Logistics Agency – Energy, Fort Belvoir, Va.  (Previously announced on Mar. 22, 2012 going from commander, 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, Air Combat Command, Southwest Asia, to commander, Defense Logistics Agency – Distribution, New Cumberland, Pa.)
