Flag Officer Announcements

            Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan Greenert announced today the following assignments: 

            Rear Adm. Kenneth E. Floyd will be assigned as director, program integration, N9I, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.  Floyd previously served as director, air warfare, N88, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C. 

            Rear Adm. (lower half) Michael M. Gilday will be assigned as chief of staff, strike force NATO, Lisbon.  Gilday is currently serving as director of operations, Joint Forces Command Lisbon. 

            Rear Adm. (lower half) Jeffrey A. Harley will be assigned as commander, Expeditionary Strike Group Seven/commander, Amphibious Force, U.S. Seventh Fleet, Okinawa, Japan.  Harley is currently serving as deputy director, plans and policy, J5B, U.S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. 

            Rear Adm. William F. Moran will be assigned as director, air warfare, N98, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.  Moran previously served as deputy director, air warfare, N88B, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C. 

            Capt. Dwight D. Shepherd, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as director, J1, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.  Shepherd is currently serving as senior military assistant to the secretary of the Navy, Washington, D.C.
