General Officer Announcements

            Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

            Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Leslie J. Carroll has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general.  Carroll is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 4th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), San Antonio, Texas.

            Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Bryan R. Kelly has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general and assignment as commanding general (troop program unit), Army Reserve Medical Command, Pinellas Park, Fla.  Kelly is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), Medical Readiness and Training Command, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

            Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Peter S. Lennon has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general and assignment as commanding general (troop program unit), 377th Theater Support Command, New Orleans, La.  Lennon is currently serving as acting commander (troop program unit), 377th Theater Support Command, New Orleans, La.

            Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Gary A. Medvigy has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general and assignment as deputy commanding general (support) (individual mobilization augmentee), Eighth U.S. Army, Yongsan, Republic of Korea.  Medvigy is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 351st Civil Affairs Command, Mountain View, Calif.

            Army Reserve Brig. Gen. David W. Puster has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general and assignment as commanding general (troop program unit), 84th Division (Institutional Training), Milwaukee, Wis.  Puster is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 84th Division (Institutional Training), Milwaukee, Wis.

            Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Megan P. Tatu has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general and assignment as commanding general (troop program unit), 79th Sustainment Support Command, Los Alamitos, Calif.  Tatu is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 5th Brigade (Mission Command), 75th Training Division (Mission Command), Dublin, Calif.

            Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Daniel L. York has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general and assignment as commanding general (troop program unit), U.S. Army Reserve Joint and Special Troops Support Command, Salt Lake City, Utah.  York is currently serving as the commander (troop program unit), 86th Training Division (Operations), Fort McCoy, Wis.

            Army Reserve Brig. Gen. James V. Young Jr. has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general.  Young is currently serving as deputy chief, Army Reserve, Office of the Chief, Army Reserve, Washington, D.C.

            Army Reserve Col. Douglas F. Anderson has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as commander (troop program unit), 3rd Brigade (Mission Command), 75th Training Division (Mission Command), Fort Sheridan, Ill.  Anderson is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 97th Training Brigade, Fort Sheridan, Ill.

            Army Reserve Col. Danny C. Baldwin has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as commander (troop program unit), Medical Readiness Training Command, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.  Baldwin is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 332nd Medical Brigade, Nashville, Tenn.

            Army Reserve Col. William P. Barriage has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as commander (troop program unit), 1st Brigade (Mission Command), 75th Training Division (Mission Command), Houston, Texas.  Barrige is currently serving as chief (troop program unit), 253nd Civil Affairs Command, Staten Island, N.Y.

            Army Reserve Col. Leanne P. Burch has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as chief judge (individual mobilization augmentee), U.S. Army Legal Services Agency, Arlington, Va.  Burch is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 22nd Legal Support Organization, Grand Prairie, Texas.

            Army Reserve Col. Mitchell R. Chitwood has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as deputy commanding general (troop program unit), 63rd Regional Support Command, Moffett Field, Calif.  Chitwood is currently serving as G-7 (troop program unit), U.S. Army Reserve Legal Command, Gaithersburg, Md.

            Army Reserve Col. Stephen K. Curda has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as commander (troop program unit), 351st Civil Affairs Command, Mountain View, Calif.  Curda is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 308th Civil Affairs Brigade, Homewood, Ill.

            Army Reserve Col. Arlan M. Deblieck has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as commander (troop program unit), 103rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), Des Moines, Iowa.  Deblieck is currently serving as acting commander (troop program unit), 103rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), Des Moines, Iowa.

            Army Reserve Col. Chris R. Gentry has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as assistant chief of staff, G-5 (individual mobilization augmentee), Eighth U.S. Army, Yongsan, Republic of Korea.  Gentry is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 643rd Regional Support Group, Whitehall, Ohio.

            Army Reserve Col. Norman B. Green has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as commander (troop program unit), 4th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), San Antonio, Texas.  Green is currently serving as chief of staff (troop program unit), 79th Sustainment Support Command, Los Alamitos, Calif.

            Army Reserve Col. Lewis G. Irwin has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as commander (troop program unit), 926th Engineer Brigade, Montgomery, Alabama.  Irwin is currently serving as acting commander (troop program unit), 926th Engineer Brigade, Montgomery, Ala.

            Army Reserve Col. Phillip S. Jolly has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as commander (troop program unit), Army Reserve Sustainment Command, Birmingham, Ala.  Jolly is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 364th Sustainment Brigade, Marysville, Wash.

            Army Reserve Col. Robert A. Karmazin has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as commander (troop program unit), 5th Brigade (Mission Command), 75th Training Division (Mission Command), Dublin, Calif.  Karmazin is currently serving as senior operations officer (troop program unit), Army Reserve Counterterrorism Unit, U.S. Department of State, Washington, D.C.

            Army Reserve Col. Troy D. Kok has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as commander (troop program unit), 11th Aviation Command, Fort Knox, Ky.  Kok is currently serving as assistant chief of staff, G-4 (Active Guard and Reserve), U.S. Civil Affairs Psychological Operations, Fort Bragg, N.C.

            Army Reserve Col. William S. Lee has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as deputy commander for professional services (troop program unit), 807th Medical Command (Deployment Support), Salt Lake City, Utah.  Lee is currently serving as the commander (troop program unit), 330th Medical Brigade, Fort Sheridan, Ill.

            Army Reserve Col. Tammy S. Smith has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as deputy chief, Army Reserve, Office of the Chief, Army Reserve, Washington, D.C.  Smith is currently serving as chief (active guard and reserve), General Officer Management Office/director, Senior Leader Management Office, Office of the Chief, Army Reserve, Fort Belvoir, Va.

            Army Reserve Col. Michael S. Tuomey has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as deputy commander for mobilization (individual mobilization augmentee), Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill.  Tuomey is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), Army Reserve Element, Defense Logistics Agency, Fort Belvoir, Va.
