Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Army Lt. Gen. Howard B. Bromberg, for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy chief of staff, G-1, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C. Bromberg is currently serving as deputy commanding general/chief of staff, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort Bragg, N.C.
Army Maj. Gen. William B. Garrett III, for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy commanding general/chief of staff, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort Bragg, N.C. Garrett most recently served as chief of staff, U.S. Forces-Iraq, Operation New Dawn, Iraq.
