General Officer Assignments

            The chief of staff, Army announced today the following assignments: 

            Maj. Gen. Robert G. Catalanotti, U.S. Army Reserve, Program Manager-Facilities Security Forces, U.S. Central Command, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to director, Exercises and Training Directorate J-7, U.S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. 

            Brig. Gen. John G. Rossi, who has been selected for the rank of major general, commanding general, 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Fort Bliss, Texas, to director, Quadrennial Defense Review, office of the deputy chief of staff, G-8, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C. 

            Brig. Gen. Thomas C. Seamands, who has been selected for the rank of major general, deputy chief of staff, G-1, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort Bragg, N.C., to director, military personnel management, office of the deputy chief of staff, G-1, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C. 

            Brig. Gen. Joseph A. Brendler, chief, C/J-6, International Security Assistance Force, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan, to director of architecture, operations, networks and space, office of the chief information officer/G-6, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C. 

            Brig. Gen. James H. Dickinson, commanding general, 94th Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Fort Shafter, Hawaii, to commanding general, 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Fort Bliss, Texas. 

            Brig. Gen. William J. Scott, commanding general, 311th Theater Signal Command, Fort Shafter, Hawaii, to chief, C/J-6, International Security Assistance Force, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.  

            Brig. Gen. Kelly J. Thomas, assistant commanding general for police development, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Training Mission-Afghanistan/Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan, to deputy chief of staff, G-1, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort Bragg, N.C.

            Brig. Gen. Eric P. Wendt, deputy commander, Regional Command North, International Security Assistance Force, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan, to commanding general, Special Operations Command Korea, U.S. Forces Korea, Republic of Korea. 

            Col. Daniel L. Karbler, who has been selected for the rank of brigadier general, commandant, U.S. Army Air Defense School, U.S. Army Fires Center of Excellence, Fort Sill, Okla., to commanding general, 94th Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Fort Shafter, Hawaii.
