General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced today that the President has made the following nomination:
Air Force Maj. Gen. Joseph L. Lengyel for the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as vice chief, National Guard Bureau, Washington, D.C. Lengyel is currently serving as the senior U.S. defense official; chief, Office of Military Cooperation; and defense attaché, Cairo, U.S. Central Command, Cairo, Egypt.
