Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced the following Department of Defense Senior Executive Service appointment:
David Helvey has been appointed deputy assistant secretary of defense for East Asia, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Policy), Washington, D.C. Helvey previously served in this position as acting deputy assistant secretary of defense for East Asia, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Policy), Washington, D.C.
