Flag Officer Assignments

            The Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan W. Greenert announced today the following assignments: 

            Rear Adm. (lower half) Colin G. Chinn, will be assigned as fleet surgeon, U.S. Pacific Fleet/Command Surgeon, U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii.  Chinn is currently serving as director, Medical Resources, Plans, and Policy Division, N0931, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations/Chief of the Medical Corps, Washington, D.C.

            Rear Adm. John N. Christenson, will be assigned as deputy U.S. military representative to NATO Military Committee, Brussels, Belgium.  Christenson is currently serving as president, Naval War College, Newport, R.I. 

            Rear Adm. (lower half) Frank A. Morneau, will be assigned as commander, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command/commander, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command Pacific, Virginia Beach, Va.  Morneau is currently serving as deputy director, expeditionary warfare, N95B, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C. 

            Rear Adm. (lower half) Frederick J. Roegge, will be assigned as director, Military Personnel Plans and Policy Division, N13, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.  Roegge is currently serving as director, plans and operations, U.S. Naval Forces Europe/deputy commander, Sixth Fleet/Commander Submarines, Allied Naval Forces South/commander, Submarine Group Eight, Naples, Italy. 

            Rear Adm. (lower half) Phillip G. Sawyer, will be assigned as commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.  Sawyer is currently serving as commander, Submarine Group Seven/commander, Task Force Seven Four/commander, Task Force Five Four, Yokosuka, Japan.
