Flag Officer Assignments

            The Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan W. Greenert announced today the following assignments: 

            Rear Adm. Terry B. Kraft will be assigned as commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Japan/commander, Navy Region Japan, Yokosuka, Japan.  Kraft is currently serving as commander, Navy Warfare Development Command, Norfolk, Va. 

            Rear Adm. (lower half) Michael E. Jabaley Jr., will be assigned as deputy commander for undersea warfare, SEA-07, Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C.  Jabaley is currently serving as vice commander, Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C. 

            Rear Adm. (lower half) Willie L. Metts will be assigned as director for intelligence, J2, U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii.  Metts is currently serving as deputy chief, tailored access operations, S32, National Security Agency, Fort Mead, Md. 

            Rear Adm. (lower half) Stuart B. Munsch will be assigned as commander, Submarine Group Seven/commander, Task Force Seven Four/commander, Task Force Five Four, Yokosuka, Japan.  Munsch is currently serving as deputy director, Submarine Warfare Division, N97B, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C. 

            Rear Adm. (lower half) Fernandez L. Ponds will be assigned as commander, Expeditionary Strike Group Three, San Diego, Calif.  Ponds is currently serving as commander, Navy Region Hawaii/commander, Naval Surface Group, MIDPAC, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.  

            Rear Adm. (lower half) Charles A. Richard will be assigned as commander, Submarine Group Ten, Kings Bay, Ga.  Richard is currently serving as deputy commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Global Strike, U.S. Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.

            Rear Adm. (lower half) Hugh D. Wetherald will be assigned as commander, Expeditionary Strike Group Seven/commander, Amphibious Force, U.S. Seventh Fleet, Okinawa, Japan.  Wetherald is currently serving as deputy chief of staff for plans, policies and requirements, N5/N8, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. 

            Capt. Brian K. Antonio, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as program executive officer for Littoral Combat Ships, Washington, D.C.  Antonio is currently serving as deputy chief of staff for fleet maintenance, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. 

            Capt. Robert P. Burke, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as director, plans and operations, U.S. Naval Forces Europe/deputy commander, Sixth Fleet/commander submarines, Allied Naval Forces South/commander, Submarine Group Eight, Naples, Italy.  Burke is currently serving as director, joint and fleet operations, N3/N5, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va. 

            Capt. Luther B. Fuller III, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as deputy commander for ship design, integration and engineering, SEA-05, Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C.  Fuller is currently serving as commander, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, N.H. 

            Capt. Andrew L. Lewis, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as commander, Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, Fallon, Nev.  Lewis is currently serving as director fleet and joint training (N7), U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va. 

            Capt. Bret J. Muilenburg, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as commander, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Muilenburg is currently serving as senior engineer assistant to commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet Engineer, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
