GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. Carlton W. Fulford Jr., U.S. Marine Corps, for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as commander, U.S. Marine Forces Pacific, commanding general, Fleet Marine Force Pacific, commander, Marine Corps Bases Pacific.
Fulford is currently serving as the commanding general, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
Fulford was born on May 11, 1944 in Newnan, Ga.
