GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Gen. Bruce B. Knutson, Jr., U.S. Marine Corps, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as commanding general, I Marine Expeditionary Force.
Knutson is currently serving as commanding general, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Okinawa, Japan.
Knutson was born on June 28, 1946 in Douglas, Ariz.
