GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Gen. Michael C. Short, U.S. Air Force, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commander, Allied Air Forces Southern Europe, NATO and commander, Sixteenth Air Force, United States Air Forces in Europe.
Short is currently assigned as director, operations, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein A.B., Germany.
Short was born Feb. 24, 1944, in Princeton, N.J.
