FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Rear Adm. John R. Ryan, U.S. Navy, for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as superintendent, U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD.
Ryan is currently serving as commander, Fleet Air Mediterranean, and commander, Maritime Air Forces, Naples, Italy.
Ryan was born August 15, 1945 in Harrisburg, Pa.
