GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Gen. Jack W. Klimp, U.S. Marine Corps, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy chief of staff for manpower and reserve affairs, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps.
Klimp is currently serving as commanding general, Marine Corps Recruiting Command, Washington, D.C.
Klimp was born on Dec. 9, 1945 in Kalamazoo, Mich.
