General Officer Assignments

The chief of staff, Air Force announced today the following assignments:

Brig. Gen. Christopher P. Weggeman, deputy director for command, control, communications and computer/cyber systems, J-6, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C., to deputy director, future operations (J3F), U.S. Cyber Command, Fort George G. Meade, Md.

Brig. Gen. Thomas J. Sharpy, director, plans, programs and analyses, Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, to vice commander, Eighteenth Air Force, Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill.

Col. Mary F. O’Brien, selected for the grade of brigadier general, vice commander, Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Agency, Deputy Chief of Staff, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Fort George G. Meade, Md., to deputy, Deputy Chief of Staff, Intelligence, Headquarters International Security Assistance Force and deputy director, operations and support, J-2, U.S. Forces-Afghanistan, U.S. Central Command, Kabul, Afghanistan.

Col. Mark E. Weatherington, selected for the grade of brigadier general, from military assistant to the deputy secretary of defense, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Pentagon, Washington, D.C., to deputy director for command, control, communications, and computer/cyber systems, J-6, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
