FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Rear Adm. Walter F. Doran, U.S. Navy, for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as commander, Seventh Fleet in Yokosuka, Japan.
Doran is currently serving as deputy commander in chief/chief of staff, U.S. Southern Command, Miami, Fla.
Doran was born Oct. 15, 1945 in Albany, N.Y.
