Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced today that the president has made the following nomination:

Navy Rear Adm. Troy M. Shoemaker for appointment to the rank of vice admiral and for assignment as commander, Naval Air Forces, and commander, Naval Air Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, San Diego, California. Shoemaker is currently serving as commander, Naval Air Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, Norfolk, Virginia.
