Deputy Secretary of Defense spokeswoman Lt. Cmdr. Courtney Hillson provided the following readout:
Deputy Secretary Work met with Commander-in-Chief of the Indonesian Armed Forces Gen. Moeldoko today at the Pentagon.
Work and Moeldoko discussed the importance of Asia-Pacific regional stability and the role of the United States' rebalance to the region in fostering that stability, as well as American support for Indonesia's military modernization, and continuing U.S. and Indonesia defense cooperation in areas of common interest. They also reviewed progress made in recent years in our military-to-military cooperation to increase exercises and training, as well as regular defense policy dialogues.
The deputy secretary underscored a commitment to continuing dialogue and building upon our strong bilateral defense relationship.
