GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Gen. Marvin R. Esmond, U.S. Air Force, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy chief of staff, Air and Space Operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Esmond is currently assigned as commander, Air Warfare Center, Air Combat Command, Nellis AFB, Nev.
Esmond was born Nov. 10, 1945, in Tulsa, Okla.
