Pentagon Press Secretary Read Adm. John Kirby provided the following readout:

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel spoke this morning with Egyptian Minister of Defense Gen. Sedki Sobhy, to exchange information about the security environment in the Middle East and North Africa, including concerns about terrorism.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continuing a strong security partnership between the United States and Egypt.
