GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that he has approved the appointment of Lt. Gen. Lawrence P. Farrell Jr., U.S. Air Force, on the retired list in the grade of lieutenant general effective Oct. 1, 1998. Farrell is currently serving as the deputy chief of staff, Plans and Programs, Headquarters, U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Farrell was born Jan. 14, 1943 in Montgomery, Ala.
