Readout of Deputy Secretary of Defense Bob Work's meeting with Philip Dunne, UK Ministry of Defense, Minister of State for Defense Procurement

Deputy Secretary of Defense Spokesperson Lt. Cmdr. Courtney Hillson provided the following readout:    

Deputy Secretary of Defense Bob Work met with Philip Dunne, UK Ministry of Defense, Minister of State for Defense Procurement today at the Pentagon.

Deputy Secretary Work began the meeting by congratulating Minister Dunne for his promotion to Minister of State. Work also commended the UK's commitment to spend two percent of GDP on defense, in accordance with NATO's Defense Investment Pledge for member nations.

During the meeting, Work and Dunne discussed the UK's Strategic Defense and Security Review, innovation initiatives, capability management and associated U.S.- UK collaboration opportunities. They concluded the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to maintaining close coordination between the U.S. Department of Defense and the UK Ministry of Defense.
