GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that he has approved the appointment of Lt. Gen. William P. Hallin, U.S. Air Force, on the retired list in the grade of lieutenant general effective Nov. 1, 1998. Hallin is currently serving as the deputy chief of staff, Installations and Logistics, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Hallin was born Dec. 8, 1941, Newington, Conn.
