GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. Phillip J. Ford, U.S. Air Force, for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy commander in chief, United States Strategic Command, Offutt AFB, Neb. Ford is currently assigned as commander, Eighth Air Force, Barksdale AFB, La.
Ford was born July 7, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas.
