FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Vice Adm. Dennis C. Blair, U.S. Navy, for appointment to the grade of admiral with assignment as commander in chief, U.S. Pacific Command in Honolulu, Hawaii. Blair is currently serving as director, Joint Staff the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Blair was born Feb. 4, 1947, in Kittery, Maine.
