GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. Michael J. Byron, U. S. Marine Corps, for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as the deputy chairman, NATO Military Committee, Brussels, Belgium. Byron is currently serving as the U. S. representative to the NATO Military Committee, Brussels, Belgium.
Byron was born on Oct. 1, 1941 in Albany, N.Y.
