GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Gen. Daniel J. Petrosky, U.S. Army, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as commanding general, Eighth U.S. Army/chief of staff, United Nations Command/Combined Forces Command/ United States Forces Korea, Republic of Korea. Petrosky is currently serving as the commanding general, U.S. Army Aviation Center and Fort Rucker, Fort Rucker, Ala.
Petrosky was born on Nov. 10, 1944, Columbus, Ohio.
