GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Gen. Randall L. Rigby Jr., U.S. Army, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy commanding general, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Monroe, Va. Rigby is currently serving as the director, Program and Analysis and Evaluation, Office of the Chief of Staff, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.
Rigby was born on Nov. 9, 1945, Texarkana, Ark.
