GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Air Force Maj. Gen. Michael V. Hayden for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as director, National Security Agency/Chief, Central Security Service, Fort Meade, Md.
Hayden is currently assigned as deputy chief of staff, United Nations Command Korea and deputy chief of staff, U.S. Forces Korea, U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan, Korea.
