FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Navy Vice Adm. Vern E. Clark for appointment to the grade of admiral and assignment as commander, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, Norfolk, Va. Clark is currently serving as director, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
