GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. Maxwell C. Bailey, U.S. Air Force, for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commander, Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field, Fla. Bailey is currently assigned as commander, 21st Air Force, McGuire Air Force Base, N.J.
