GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the president has nominated Army Lt. Gen. Thomas N. Burnette, Jr. for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy commander in chief, U.S. Atlantic Command, Norfolk, Va. Burnette is currently serving as the deputy chief of staff for Operations and Plans, U.S. Army, Washington, DC.
