GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. Lansford E. Trapp Jr., U.S. Air Force, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as vice commander, Pacific Air Forces, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. Trapp is currently serving as commander, Twelfth Air Force, Air Combat Command; commander, United States Southern Command Air Forces; and Air Force Component Commander, United States Strategic Command, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz.
