GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. Robert H. Foglesong, U.S. Air Force, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commander, Twelfth Air Force, Air Combat Command; commander, United States Southern Command Air Forces; and Air Force Component Commander, United States Strategic Command, Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz. Foglesong is currently serving as assistant to the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
