FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Navy Rear Adm. Norbert R. Ryan, Jr., for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as deputy chief of Naval Operations for Manpower and Personnel, N1, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations and chief of Naval Personnel, Arlington, Va. Ryan is currently serving as chief of Navy Legislative Affairs, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
