GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the president has nominated Army Gen. Thomas A. Schwartz for reappointment to the grade of general with assignment as commander in chief, United Nations Command/Combined Forces Command/commander, U.S. Forces Korea, Seoul, Korea.
Schwartz is currently serving as commanding general, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort McPherson, Ga.
