GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the president has nominated Army Lt. Gen. John W. Hendrix for appointment to the grade of general and assignment as commanding general, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort McPherson, Ga. Hendrix is currently serving as commanding general, V Corps, United States Army Europe and Seventh Army, Heidelberg, Germany.
