GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Air Force Maj. Gen. Paul K. Carlton Jr., for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as Surgeon General of the Air Force, Pentagon, Washington D.C. Carlton is currently assigned as commander, Air Force Medical Operations Agency, Bolling Air Force Base, Washington D.C.
