FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Navy Vice Adm. Edmund P. Giambastiani Jr. for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as deputy chief of Naval Operations for Resources, Warfare Requirements and Assessments, N8, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C. Giambastiani is currently serving as commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, and commander, Submarine Allied Command, Atlantic, Norfolk, Va.
