GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Emil R. Bedard for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy chief of staff for Plans, Policies and Operations, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps.
Bedard is currently serving as the commanding general, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejuene, N.C.
